15th April 2018                                                        Third Sunday of Easter

Welcome to Buckingham Parish Church - If you are new or just visiting do please make yourself known to one of the clergy or the welcome team - we’d love to get to know you. Children’s Space: Children are very welcome at all our services. If they need quiet games, toys or colouring, please do use our two areas at the back of church or our Play Zone for any children or adults who would like to chill and watch the service on a TV! At the 9.30am we have three children’s groups that meet upstairs after the all-age worship – Stepping Stones (2.5/3-Reception), Sparks (Years 1-2) and Dynamite (Years 3-6). At our 11.00am service we also have a group called JAMmers for primary school aged children. We’d love to see you there! Please note that our 9.30am and 6.00pm services will be ‘live streamed’. If you don’t wish to be included, please sit at the rear of the church or in the side aisles. All that is recorded (for viewing later) is the sermon, featuring only the preacher.

Today’s Collect

Almighty Father,

who in your great mercy gladdened the disciples

with the sight of the risen Lord:

give us such knowledge of his presence with us,

that we may be strengthened and sustained

by his risen life

and serve you continually in righteousness and truth;

through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,

who is alive and reigns with you,

in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

one God, now and for ever.

Pray through the week for:

? those who are ill: Diane Asekun, Georgie Gallagher, Don Davis and Mary Buckingham.

? those who mourn, that they may be comforted by God’s presence.

Traidcraft:  On the Traidcraft stall this week, there are 1kg bags of traditionally grown fairly traded rice from Malawi at £3 per bag, white or brown.  The Fairtrade Town Steering group is challenging Buckingham to send at least one child in Malawi to school through these sales.  If you eat rice, please support this challenge!  Tina Mitchell
